I’ve just added a basic report function to the Website. Now agents can print off a report of all of their listings from their Dashboard that includes status, current prices, page views and impressions. More statistics and reporting functions will be added over the next several days.

Today, we’re heading out to Cloverdale to take some exterior HDR images. While in the area, we’ll visit a few parks and images of the local area for inclusion on the site. Stay tuned for details.

We’ve made some great improvements to our standard feature sheet template. Based on client input, we’ve created a feature sheet that presents your listing in clean, an easy to read format. The information is laid out in order of importance; placing what home buyers want to know first at the top with additional information afterwards. But, we didn’t stop there. We’ve also added the latest in real estate marketing, a QR Code, so that interested buyers have a direct link to your online listing.

Preliminary response has been great, with 100% of all prospective home buyers polled indicating they much prefer out new “Smart” feature sheet over standard MLS versions.

Some user reviews have included:

“When I look at this one, (indicating the MLS sheet) everything seems bold – I don’t know where to look, I have to search for information. When I looked at this one” pointing to our new feature sheet design “I can see right away this is a 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo and I can see the price here… It take me longer to find that information on this other sheet…”

Try our new “Smart” feature sheets for your next open house. They’re free.

Haven’t heard of a QR code? Get ready, they’re going to the next big marketing tool.

QR codes or Quick Response codes were created by Toyota subsidiary, Denso-Wave way back in 1994. They spread like wildfire in their home country of Japan, but have taken a little longer to catch on in North America.

Fast-forward 17 years.

My first experience with QR codes was on my annual pilgrimage back to Quebec during the Holidays to visit the family. I checked into my Air Canada flight with my smartphone and received a link, when opened, provided a weird looking squarish graphic. I had no idea what it was back then, all I knew is that it made my life easier by getting me through the check in process a lot faster. My sincere kudos. Little did I know they’d be the latest rage a year later.

QR codes are now appearing everywhere. The GAP now includes them in their print material, companies are using them for loyalty programs, even Macy’s and Target are now using them in marketing campaigns. So why not real estate agents?

Now you can. Well, actually, some agencies have already started to slowly incorporate the new technology in their marketing material. Josh Nekrept, of Century 21 in Winnipeg Manitoba, has started to incorporate them into is feature sheets. TheĀ Liz Moore Insider featured them in an article, and now their popping up in more agencies. What I meant to say earlier is, now you can easily incorporate them in your Just List It feature sheets, or download the generated QR image and use it with your own material. Either way, it’s a vehicle to facilitate providing prospective buyers with more information. Fast.

QR Codes now appear on your listings and feature sheets

QR codes now appear on your published Just List It listings and feature sheets and offer a direct link from your printed marketing material to your online listing, where your prospective buyer can peruse more images of your listing and the local area, browse your additional listings, add them to their favorites and of course, contact you. It’s very cool, and gives your promo material that technologically savvy appearance. This feature is available for all accounts at no added cost.

Even my Dad, initially asking “What’s this square on the sheet?”

It’s a QR code; you can download an app and scan it with your iPhone to check out listings. He was all over it. It’s that easy.

QR code readers can be downloaded for free for the iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and most other smartphones. During development, I tested the QR code module using theĀ Mobio App I downloaded from the App Store.

This morning I was able to publish some small updates to the agent Dashboard. Slight modifications to the layout and the addition of links to create open houses or notes from the listing preview.

It’s been a long couple weeks working on the latest software update. I’m in the process of running my last bug checks and cross-browser verifications. I’m anticipating launching the updated version by noon tomorrow.

At a glance, the update will feature a much more stable platform. In an effort to eradicate some persisting bugs, I deconstructed and rebuilt the CMS portion of the site. Performing this was quite tedious and very time consuming, but proved beneficial as I was able to located and fix some of the earlier issues.

Also in this update is the first round of a new module that will enable clients to manage contacts. Users can create a contact, keep detailed notes and link contacts to the listings they are interested. Contact profiles include contact information and social media coordinates.

Other changes include an updated listing management page with widgets to help you manage linked clients, notes and upcoming open houses from the same page.
